As we approach 2020 I’m still a little disappointed that I don’t have a flying car and can’t opt for teleportation when booking my next vacation on Expedia.com. Thanks a lot, Hollywood. So, technology isn’t quite where the film industry suggested it would be in all those fictional movies I watched as a kid, but it’s certainly on its way. The automotive industry is sure to remind me of this each year by integrating cutting edge science, innovative engineering & other forms of technological wizardry into each of its creations. While scouring the web for 2020 trucks to poetically wax about, I found myself gravitating towards the Ford Media Center website, which is always a great decision. Immediately upon arrival, I noticed the Tremor Off-Road Package featured on the 2020 F-Series Super Duty lineup. In a nutshell- who needs a flying car?
“Tremor pushes the boundaries of Super Duty off-road capability with new hardware and tech to handle rough terrain, providing greater towing and payload than Ram Power Wagon. ” – FORD
“Tremor enables customers to combine weekday work and weekend adventure with upgraded suspension and off-road running boards, plus 35-inch maximum-traction all-terrain tires – the largest tires fitted to a heavy-duty pickup”
“Super Duty gets Trail Control™, plus a special rock-crawl mode is included in truck’s first-ever selectable drive modes; Tremor also boasts best-in-class water fording of 33 inches…This is the most capable off-road Super Duty ever.”- FORD
After realizing that I’d have to give up rock crawling if I owned a flying car, I decided to get my head out of the clouds and set my sights on a vehicle that’s a little more down-to-earth. This is what the internet had to say about the exciting new offerings from Ford.
“The 2020 F-150 Lariat SuperCrew with rear-wheel drive and a 5.5-foot bed is a great place to start. This midlevel trim grants you standard equipment such as the punchy 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine and 10-speed automatic transmission. Ford’s suite of advanced driver safety aids, called Co-Pilot360, is also included. And going with the Lariat allows you to customize your truck with some choice options while keeping pricing in check.” – Edmunds.com
“The 2020 Ford F-150…has the guts to tow and haul at the top of its class, yet it also offers a wide range of luxury and technology features. The combination makes it one of the most versatile trucks available and justifies the F-Series as the top-selling vehicle on the market.” – Edmunds.com
• High towing and payload capacities are ideal for work or play
• Comfort and safety tech runs the gamut from blue-collar basic to luxury living
• Multiple engines deliver a balance of power and fuel economy
“Ford has invested heavily to keep the F-150 updated with the times. In addition to its lightweight all-aluminum body, the truck offers a selection of advanced technologies. Standard on all models is a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and most trim levels come with the Sync 3 infotainment system and an 8-inch touchscreen. Pre-collision assist with automatic braking is also standard equipment. New for 2020, the Ford Co-Pilot360 safety suite comes on the Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited trims.” -Edmunds.com
