Turn 3 Motorsport Looks To Secure Season Championships At COTA
Turn 3 Motorsport is looking to secure the driver and team championship titles at this weekend’s Blue Marble Cocktails Radical Cup North America season closer at the famed Circuit of the Americas Formula 1 track in Austin. The rookie team has been holding onto the lead in the 1340 and 1500 championships with drivers Eric Wagner and Antoine Comeau throughout the majority of the season and hopes to clinch the titles with their performances during the finale.
Comeau came out of the gate strong in his #10 T3M/ACR SR3 1500 car, dominating the first two races of the season and claiming six wins in a row. His success continued throughout the year as he racked up a total of nine race wins and five second place finishes in 15 events thus far. With just three races to go, Comeau is hungry to claim the Radical Cup 1500 class championship title.
Wagner’s performance arc has been steady during the season with his best finishes occurring during Round 4 at Portland International Raceway where he piloted his #10 T3M/ESW SR3 1340 car to win all three races. Wagner’s consistency has earned him a sizeable lead in
the driver’s championship where he intends to stay and take home the 1340 class title trophy.
“We are really looking forward to our season finale at COTA,” said Team Owner Peter Dempsey. “It’s a fantastic venue to finish out the season and to be part of a major event there is great for the series. Both Eric (Wagner) and Antoine (Comeau) have improved throughout the year, and our goal for this weekend is to keep improving to finish the season off as strongly as possible. We will remain fully focused on the job until Race 3 is over on Saturday, and hopefully we can claim both drivers and team championships. I would like to say a huge thank you to Eric, Antoine, and all my crew for the effort they have put in this season. They have all been phenomenal.”
In a first for Radical Cup North America, COTA will have live-streamed video coverage for all three races. With this weekend’s grid shaping up to be one of the biggest of the season, the races are sure to be a spectacle worth watching.
